Random tardy day winners for September is 4th grade! YAY!
Our random tardy day was September 22nd and 4th grade had the least amount of tardies that day. That means our students were at school ON TIME and ready TO LEARN! Way to go 4th grade students, parents and teachers!

Important notice😊
Happy Monday, Garland Bear families~
I hope everyone has a wonderful week! I wanted to reach out and let all our Garland Bears know about the school-wide attendance initiative that we will be doing this school year. Last school year Garland rocked our overall school-wide attendance and each month we were over the monthly average of 95% attendance so this school year we want to focus on tardies. We will do this by celebrating the grade level classes with the lowest tardies on the RANDOM tardy day. I will announce the winners the following month. The winning grade level classes will each display an attendance trophy in their classrooms for the month, receive a Bear Pride ticket as well as a small treat. These classes will also get their picture taken to be displayed in the kiva and a shoutout on Garland's social media platforms.
Each trimester there will also be TWO overall tardy winners for that trimester. I will see what classes (1) K-2nd) & (1) 3rd-5th) had the least amount of tardies the past three months. The two winning classes will receive a Bear Pride ticket, get their picture taken to be displayed in the kiva and a shoutout on Garland's social media platforms. These two classes will also get a bigger class treat of their choosing (pizza party, root beer floats, donuts etc).
I'm so excited to be teaching this week! I will be in Bear Skills all week doing a lesson with students on "All Are Welcome". It's the perfect lesson to start off the school year and a great reminder that everyone is welcome no matter who or where you come from. I will also let the students know about the attendance initiative during Bear Skills. Thank you!
